It was obvious that there was wallpaper that had been painted at least once and the kicker was the contact paper on the ceiling... yes folks - shelf liner... the plastic stuff. It was white was beautiful multi-colored flowers - none of which matched the deep rose color on the walls.
So, unfortunately, I forgot my camera the night that some ladies came over to help me begin the process of scraping the paint and wallpaper off the walls in this room. I chose to start in this one because Meg was really apprehensive about the new house - and who can blame a girl??!!? The room that was to be hers stunk to high heaven!
I don't think that Amy, Cody, Susan, Nina, and April have any idea how much their participation in the "Wallpaper Peeling Party" helped to save me from losing it. Everytime I walked into the "new" house, I was totally overwhelmed with all that needed to be done. That night, we laughed and chatted and laughed and peeled and scraped and all by the light of one standing light that was plugged in two stories below us because Dave had begun the task of replacing all of the electrical wire and one of the first steps in doing so is to cut all of the old power lines in the house. (If you look closely in that first pic, you can see some yellow wire hanging out of a hole in the wall.)
So, ladies, thank you for helping me to focus on one room and move forward with that one room.

Meg's room - just about done... it's clean anyway... and about ready to move in some stuff!
