Christmas Tree Hunt

Well Jack and I stayed home and I missed the annual Christmas tree hunt for the first time since I've known Dave -- over 10 years!!! We just decided that Jack was a bit too small -- the girls were at least a month or two old when we took them as infants.... And I must say, Dave and the girls got another good mountain tree! Dave said it was pretty tough doing it all by himself - he had to carry Ella and the tree back to the truck!

Jack is 2 weeks old already!

Jack got meet Granma Jeannine this weekend.

We went in for Jack's 2 week check up on Tuesday --- but he was a bit upstaged by his sisters who were both diagnosed with strep!!! Oh well...

Dr Bowers says everything looks good and he is gaining weight! He is already up to 9 lbs 7 oz.

I guess any concerns we may have about how well he's eating are unfounded!!!

He continues to sleep pretty well - just getting up at about 2:30 or 3 every morning after going to bed between 9 and 10. He's such a good boy!

Meg has been my little helper!!! Above, she is holding him and singing to him on Saturday morning. Below, she is actually changing his diaper!!! She won't touch it if it's poopy - and after this afternoon, I can't blame her! Jack got me! I've never seen poop fly like that!!! All the way up my arm! Sorry if that's too graphic --- once you become a parent, it seems like nothing phases you!!! Ella was completely disgusted! We both just laughed and laughed! And I can say that I still haven't been peed on --- yet!!! I know it's coming! :)

Meg also just loves to hold him and cuddle him! She sat for almost an hour on Saturday just holding him and talking to him and petting him. It's so neat to watch the girls with him. Ella just kisses and kisses him!

Thanksgiving with the Barber Clan

Mom took on the task of preparing Thanksgiving dinner for all of us -- I was blessed to have all of my brothers and Dad come up for the day --- Mom was so worried that I would be overwhelmed and that they'd have to tie me to the couch but I think I did pretty well... I watched football and hung out with my feet up most of the day. I am so thankful to them for making the drive for such a short visit. Thanks, you guys!!!!

The Casper Huberts visit

The Casper Hubert's came up to meet their new cousin on Wednesday. Timothy was so excited to meet the other boy in the family and said that they are going to play in the dirt together. The girls all got a chance to hold him a bit, too.

Jack also had a doctor's appt on Wednesday - just his check up. He'd already put on 5 ounces since we'd left the hospital and he is looking good!

First Bath at Home

Here are some pictures of Jack's first bath at home. We usually wash his hair first while he still has his onesie on... look how fluffy and blond it is after being washed!

The girls have been helpful - taking turns helping with his hair and his belly.He likes to soak in the warm water!!! This first bath he didn't fuss, the second one he did and then last night he just seemed to be enjoying it again. Ugh - he is soooooo cute!

Jack had a few visitors at the hospital - including the Russells (above), the Rogers', Pastor Ken, and Michelle.

And this is Bridgette - my awesome nurse/midwife!!! She delivered Jack and has been such a wonderful care giver to us both!

Jackson Wayne Hubert Arrives

Jackson was born around 6:30 pm on Friday evening, November 21st.

8 pounds 9 ounces, 21 inches long

I think she likes him!!!

Meg and Ella can just barely get enough of him and we're almost having to resort to the timer to be sure that everyone gets a fair turn in holding him!!!
